WAESOL, the Washington state affiliate of Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), is a professional, non-profit organization whose purposes are to:
  • Promote scholarship
  • Disseminate information related to ESOL
  • Strengthen instruction, teacher training, and research in the teaching of English to speakers of other languages

This presentation details a set of techniques, based on embodied (gesture enhanced) oral reading that supports learning of course content and pronunciation. The gesture plus touch (haptic) engagement is designed to enhance expressiveness, attention and memory for both form and content. Applicable for learners of all ages and proficiency levels.
