WAESOL, the Washington state affiliate of Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), is a professional, non-profit organization whose purposes are to:
  • Promote scholarship
  • Disseminate information related to ESOL
  • Strengthen instruction, teacher training, and research in the teaching of English to speakers of other languages

Clock hours will be available for both the live conference and the recorded sessions. Please note: Clock hours can only be earned once for a particular session either during the live conference or as a recording.

Dr. Honigsfeld is a professor in the School of Education and Human Services at Molloy University, Rockville Centre, New York, where she teaches graduate courses related to cultural and linguistic diversity, language and literacy development, and equity.
Before entering the field of teacher education, she was an English teacher in Hungary, an English-as-a-second-language teacher in New York City, and taught Hungarian at New York University. As a Fulbright Scholar, she lectured in Iceland and has been presenting at conferences across the United States, Canada, China, Great Britain, Denmark, Sweden, the Philippines, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates.
She frequently offers virtual and on-site professional learning opportunities primarily focusing on effective differentiated strategies and collaborative practices for ELD/ELL specialists and general education teachers. Her recent articles and ongoing research are focused on coteaching, teacher collaboration, and English language and literacy strategies.
